    The ATTEN GT-5150 is a dedicated vacuum desoldering station: a 150 W intelligent base with the vacuum pump built in, supplied with the GT-X150 desoldering gun. Heat and suction arrive through the same nozzle, so a through-hole joint is melted and emptied in a single motion instead of being worked at with an iron and braid.

    That matters most where damage is easiest to do. Clearing a forty-pin connector or a plated-through hole with braid means repeated dwell on the same pad, and lifted pads are how those repairs go wrong. With −600 mmHg behind a correctly sized nozzle, the solder is gone before the heat has travelled into the laminate.

    Like the rest of the GT range it identifies whichever tool you plug in, so fitting a GT-Y iron handle or the GT-N100 tweezers turns the same station into a soldering station.

    What it does

    Built-in vacuum pump at −600 mmHg

    The pump is inside the station — no external compressor, no air line across the bench. Pull the trigger and the molten solder leaves the hole.

    250 – 480 °C

    The range starts higher than a soldering station's deliberately: desoldering wants the joint molten fast, before the heat spreads into the board.

    Automatic tool recognition

    The station reads which GT tool is plugged in and loads its parameters. Fit an iron handle and it becomes a soldering station.

    Getting it right

    Three things decide the result

    A vacuum desoldering station is easy to use badly. None of this is difficult, but all three matter more than the wattage does.

    Size the bore to the lead

    The nozzle should clear the lead with a little room around it. Too tight and it seals against the pin, so the vacuum has nowhere to pull from.

    Let it melt first

    Seat the nozzle over the lead, wait until the joint is properly molten, then trigger. Suction applied to half-frozen solder is what leaves a hole still bridged.

    3

    Move the lead while it is liquid

    A gentle wiggle of the component lead as the solder goes confirms the hole is clear, and stops the lead freezing back into the barrel.

    The nozzle is the wear part on any desoldering station — molten solder is pulled through its bore, so it erodes and eventually clogs. Four bores cover ordinary through-hole work, and each one is €9.

    Tell us what you take apart most often — through-hole boards, connectors, or surface-mount packages. Vacuum desoldering is the wrong answer for some of those, and we would rather say so before you order.

    Frequently asked questions

    Why use a vacuum desoldering station instead of braid or a hand pump?

    Because it removes the solder while the joint is still molten, in one motion, with the heat applied through the same nozzle that does the sucking. Braid needs a second tool and a lot of dwell time; a hand pump has to be triggered after you move the iron away, by which point the solder is already freezing. On a multi-pin connector or a plated-through hole, the difference is measured in lifted pads.

    Which nozzle bore should I use?

    Match the nozzle to the lead, not to the pad. The bore should clear the lead with a little room around it, so the vacuum can break the joint rather than sealing itself against the pin. If in doubt go one size up — too tight is worse than slightly loose. The 1.0 mm covers most ordinary component leads.

    Can this station also solder?

    Yes. It recognises any GT tool, so fitting a GT-Y130 or GT-Y050 iron handle, or the GT-N100 tweezers, turns it into a soldering station. It is single-channel, so one tool is live at a time — if you need an iron and something else running together, look at the GT-6200.

    Why does the temperature start at 250 °C and not 150 °C?

    Because desoldering is a different job from soldering. You want the joint fully molten quickly so the vacuum has something liquid to pull, and so the heat does not have time to travel into the laminate and lift the pad. A 150 °C floor would be of no use here, which is why the soldering stations have one and this does not.

    Does it need a compressor or an air line?

    No. The vacuum pump is built into the station and runs from the mains — there is nothing to plumb in and nothing else on the bench.

    What is the wear part?

    The nozzle. Solder is pulled through its bore, so it erodes and eventually clogs; that is normal and it is a €9 part. Keep the bore clear while the nozzle is still hot, and park the gun in its stand so auto-sleep can drop the temperature between joints.

    What warranty applies?

    Two years on the station and one year on the handle. Nozzles are wear parts and sit outside the warranty — we keep the full T151 range in stock.
